Celebrating Harmony Day at Sheidow Park
On Tuesday 23rd March, we celebrated Harmony Day. The whole school joined together for a picnic at lunch and the events committee organised a cultural game for students to play. After lunch, we had a Harmony Day Assembly where the school choir sang some beautiful songs in “harmony”. Students were encouraged to wear orange or traditional clothing from a particular culture.
Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
